New York City Tourism

New York City is undoubtedly one of the most popular tourist spots in the world. Times Square ranks on top of the Forbes list of the most visited sites in the country. Tourists also flock to Broadway in hopes of catching an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical and to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to gawk at the astounding collection of artworks from different cultures and civilizations.

New York City receives more than 44 million tourists each year, mostly coming from the United Kingdom, Canada, and mainland Europe. With its numerous landmarks and renowned districts, New York City almost never runs out of must-see spots. The Statue of Liberty has long been an icon of the city. It has welcomed travelers from other parts of the world back when long ocean voyages were still in vogue and continues to be a sight to behold for visitors even at this age of plane travel.

Central Park of New York City is probably the most if not one of the most famous parks in the world. It attracts more than 25 million visitors each year and has been the setting for countless movies and TV shows. Another popular icon in New York City is the Rockefeller Center, an urban complex of skyscrapers in the center of Midtown Manhattan. Fifth and Madison Avenues are favorite tourist spots as well mostly because of the conglomeration of upscale boutiques and retail shops.
